My Point Of View

 

The romance of building is that our work will live on through the generations. Our homes shelter us like the caves of the ice age and they shape space and light like the cathedrals of Europe. They comfort us and nurture our families.

Remodeling construction is a process of providing service during the course of building and then beyond. Every project has a contract, a budget, a schedule, and a plan. Schedules are met through proper planning. Budgets are met through the careful consideration of the plan. Attention to detail assures high quality. When I work in a home I make every effort to minimize the dust and disruption. I keep the job-site safe and orderly. I stay on the job until it's completed. I communicate regularly with my clients and keep normal business hours. I let my clients know what to expect ahead of time and alert them to important decisions that they must sometimes make.

Biography

​

I was born in 1954 and grew up in the Sonoran desert of Tucson, Arizona. My father was an interior designer and my mother worked in real estate. I have been an artist all my life, working with my hands and my imagination.

I have been working in the bay area since 1987 and operating Cameron Habel Construction, Inc. since 1993. In that time I have developed professional relationships with a team of reliable architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers. I learned home maintenance in the 1970s, working summers in San Diego. It was there that I apprenticed myself to a custom home builder and began to learn construction and remodeling. Altogether, I have 30 years' experience in construction and design.

I strive to represent the remodeling industry with the highest integrity. I am a proud member of NARI and I align myself with their recognized code of ethics. As a Better Business Bureau member I appreciate the need to remain accountable to my clients.

I have completed certificate programs in Construction Management, Green Building practices, and Remodeling. In San Diego I owned a business which produced etched and stained-glass windows for homes and businesses. I have a history of working with talented artisans and value their points of view. I received a bachelor's degree in art from California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland.
